Greetings Alumni and Friends!
As your new Director of Alumni Relations, I want to tell you how excited I am to be serving the MNU community on the University Advancement Team. It’s a privilege to begin making plans for a new “brand” of Homecoming and new regional Alumni & Friends Chapters. This year, Homecoming takes place October 16 – 19, while regional chapters will be formed throughout the year. My goal is to keep each of you in mind as these events are planned, because You Are MNU!
To begin, the Alumni Council needs your help in nominating outstanding Alumni & Friends for award recognition at Homecoming. These are individuals who are ascending in their careers and personal lives. We believe there is great value in honoring people who are changing the culture for Christ. This is also an encouragement for others who may follow their example.
Three awards will be given at Homecoming 2008:
• Alumna/Alumnus of the Year: A woman/man chosen for outstanding achievements in her/his career, the church, or their community. This nominee should love the Lord and believe in MNU!
• Carry the Torch: This recipient is not required to be an alumna or alumnus. It is based instead, on their humanitarian contributions to MNU, the church, and/or their community. This person is the “Friend” in Alumni & Friends and can be an alumni spouse, a parent of a current/former student, or someone special among us. We recognize these people as “carrying the torch for MNU” by supporting and promoting what we are, as an institution for Christian higher education.
If there is someone you would like to nominate, please go to www.mnu.edu/alumni/award. Nominations must be received by Friday, March 28. In the meantime, add October 16 – 19 to your calendar for Homecoming 08!
